On August 22, Connie Baldridge brought her petting zoo to the school for the preschool to visit. She brought a calf that is half Brahma, which is the kind the cowboys ride in the rodeos, and half--I can't remember the name--but it is the tallest cow there is. She also brought some baby goats and baby sheep. The kids loved feeding, petting and brushing the babies.
The thing that the kids enjoyed the most though was the ride on the donkey. Everyone got to ride 14 year-old Zoey. At the end, Ms. Baldridge took off Zoey's saddle showed of us the cross on Zoey's back. She said that every donkey has a cross on its back. That was something that I didn't know.
As Ms. Baldridge put each child in the saddle, she asked their name and how old they were. She could name a relative that she had taught of almost every student.
