Arrrrr! You Ready to Rock and Learn?

On April 2 both the morning and afternoon preschool classes went to the Topeka Performing Arts Center to attend a concert by Stephen Fite.  Before going, we made our own pirate hats to wear during the concert.  Some of the kiddos even let Miss Kay draw a pirate beard on their chin.

During the concert Captain Stephen had the kids up and moving with his music and lyrics!!!!  They had a blast acting like pirates and singing silly educational songs.

After the show, we enjoyed lunch at McDonald's and played in the play center before returning to school.

Preschool Classes take a fieldtrip to Renyer’s Pumpkin Farm

On Monday October 22 and Wednesday October 24, the preschool classes went on a field trip to Renyer’s Pumpkin Farm.  While there, students got to choose their own pumpkin; they were told to hold their hands up to their faces and given instructions to pick a pumpkin no bigger than their heads.  Students also went on a hay-rack ride, rode a tricycle on the trike track, petted the animals, ran on the obstacle course, played dodge ball  got lost in the corn maze and got to ride in the new barrel train all before lunch!!  After lunch students played on the playground—they really enjoyed the tube slide and even talked some parents and teachers into going with them on it.  They also loved the combine slide which shot them down quickly!

Custom Creations and Linscott Park

On September 20, we took a trip to Custom Creations in Holton.  While there, students were given a tour and an explanation of  how to make a t-shirt.  Each child helped make, dry and press their own classroom shirt.
